About the NASEO-NARUC State Energy Security Academy and Grid Resilience Summit

The NASEO-NARUC State Energy Security Academy and Grid Resilience Summit, supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, will feature two in-person events to strengthen state energy security and grid resilience planning. These events, held over the course of three days, will allow participants to engage with a shared community of state, federal, and industry leaders. Held together, the State Energy Security Academy and Grid Resilience Summit reflect the full arc of state energy security and grid resilience work: from technical preparedness for energy emergencies, to data analysis, to long-term investment strategy.

Please note that registration will differ between the two events. The State Energy Security Academy—held December 15-16 and concluding at noon on the 16th—is open to state agency and invited guests only. The Grid Resilience Summit will begin following the conclusion of the Academy—December 16, at 12:00 p.m. ET—and will continue through most of December 17; it is open to state and private sector partners.

  • The State Energy Security Academy (December 15-16, States Only) will equip State Energy Office, Public Utility Commission, and other relevant state agency staff with practical skills for planning and responding to energy disruptions across electricity, natural gas, and liquid fuels systems. This event will kick-off the first of it’s kind State Energy Security Academy and Certificate Program which will continue online.
  • The Grid Resilience Summit (December 16-17, Open Registration) will bring together state and private sector leaders to examine how to strengthen grid reliability and accelerate the investments needed to modernize and harden the grid against future disruptions.
